Take the next step toward improved mental health
“Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal.”
- Albert Camus
Meet David Brenner, MPAS, PA-C
I am a psychiatric physician associate with over 20 years experience in medication management. I have practiced in a variety of settings, including hospital-based and office-based practices.

I specialize in the treatment of a variety of mental health conditions. These include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and certain personality disorders. As mental health issues often stem from biological and psychological factors, I may also recommend talk therapy or lifestyle modifications.

I treat each patient as an individual and work collaboratively to create and maintain a medication regimen that best suits you. My goal is to address your unique concerns with compassion and arrive at a treatment plan that maximizes your functioning and satisfaction with life.
Practice Areas
01
Psychiatric Evaluation
Psychiatric diagnostic evaluations are the first stage of the treatment process. They are used to assess a person's overall mental state and guide recommendations for the best treatment. The assessment serves as the basis for an individualized treatment plan. It helps to understand your current mental health issues and the limitations these symptoms impose on your day-to-day functioning.
04
Natural Therapy
In addition to prescription medicine, for some patients I may recommend natural supplements or non-pharmaceutical options. These may include omega-3 fatty acids, n-acetylcysteine, SAM-e, and light therapy.
02
Prescription medication can be an effective treatment option for many patients. Based on your initial evaluation and on-going follow-up assessments, I will develop a treatment plan designed with your specific needs in mind. Medication options, possible side effects, and proper dosages will be discussed. I will monitor all of these components to ensure the best treatment plan for your mental health.
05
Specialized Referrals
Psychiatric medication is only one treatment modality for mental health issues. I also strive to connect patients with experts in a variety of fields to promote optimal health. These may include neuropsychological testing, internal medicine, sleep studies, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.
03
Pharmacogenetic Testing
For select patients, genetic testing can be valuable in guiding treatment decisions. Using a painless cheek swab, we can analyze how your genes may affect your outcomes with commonly prescribed medications. The test can provide information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you, or may be more likely to cause side effects.
